There are large parts of the country where nobody cares about the SEC.

If people in the Midwest and West just tune out of college football because everything becomes Southeastern Conference-centric, then the rivers of money may start to dry up. If the Pac-12, B1G, and ACC were to break away from the SEC and go off on their own, that would have a major impact.
